1. Overview
School of Materials and Chemistry (SMC), University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) has established long term collaborations with numerous universities and institutes from Germany, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Korea, etc.
Every year numbers of foreign students come to SMC, USST for their Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D. degree or exchange studies, and a lot of undergraduates and postgraduates of SMC, USST go overseas to study and exchange in universities and institutes above mentioned.
SMC, USST has established joint academic forums with several oversea universities and institutes. Every year dozens of professors from different countries visit SMC, USST, attend the academic forum and offer short-term courses for undergraduates and postgraduates of SMC, USST.
2. Study programs in SMC, USST
Oversea students can apply for a 4 years Bachelor’s degree program in Materials Science and Engineering, or Materials Forming and Control Engineering in SMC, USST. they can also apply for a 2.5-3 years Master’s degree program in Materials Science and Engineering, or Materials and Chemical Engineering in SMC, USST if they have obtained a Bachelor’s degree. Accordingly, a 3-5years Ph. D. degree is also offered for oversea students to study in New Energy Materials, or Electrical and Mechanical Functional Materials in SMC, USST if they has had a Bachelor or Master degree.
Oversea students can apply for Chinese government’s scholarship to help themselves finishing the study program in SMC, USST, or pay the tuition by themselves.
